Directions for use of ProMeris Flea and Tick Treatment for Small Dogs:
* Remove the ProMeris applicator from its foil pouch and open it according to label instructions
* Select an application site between your dog's shoulder blades
* Do not apply lower on the back than the pet's shoulder blades
* Part your pet's hair down to the skin at the site of application
* Place the tip of the applicator on the pet's skin at the site of application
* Slowly squeeze the applicator to expel the liquid directly onto the pet's skin
* Do not apply to the surface of the hair coat
* Apply ProMeris to a single location. If necessary, the liquid can be spread out in a short line.

Avoid Accidental Ingestion:
* ProMeris should not be ingested. Do not apply the product along the pet's back where the pet can lick it or to the surface of the hair coat where it can run off
* If applying to multiple pets at one time, do not allow the pets to lick each other following treatment
* ProMeris for dogs contains amitraz, an active ingredient that, if ingested, can cause sedation or lethargy in some dogs. These signs are generally mild and resolve without intervention within 24 to 48 hours. If signs are severe or they persist, you should contact your veterinarian.

Other Recommendations:
* You will notice a scent associated with your pet's ProMeris treatment. The scent is temporary and can be an indicator the treatment area is still wet. You should avoid contact with the treated area until it is dry, which usually occurs within 24 hours
* To minimize the scent of ProMeris, take your dog for a walk or let your dog outside after application to allow the scent to dissipate
* To minimize exposure to the wet treatment area and the scent, consider applying ProMeris before leaving for work in the morning. Or apply the product in the evening before bed and isolate your pet from the family.

Consult your veterinarian before using this product on aged, debilitated, medicated, pregnant, or nursing animals. Promeris for dogs contains Amitraz which is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor(MAOI). Consult your veterinarian before giving Promeris for dogs being treated with Mitaban dip, Preventic collar, selegiline, Anipryl, tricyclic antidepressants(amitriptylline), SSRI's (fluoxetine, Prozac, or Reconcile), and meperidine.
